Being a person who is in recovery and realizing I had a lot of demons to face, I reached out to a canvas to express what I was up against. In my magical practice, I work with doorways, gates and keys. In a lot of my paintings, I find they are oracles for things I’m asking the universe to provide and show me, much before I actually take the steps on that path. I figured this would have been one of those pieces people passed up, but several men have expressed their love of this one. Redemption and a journey through the dark night of the soul is never easy and is fraught with peril.
